Although Clint Eastwood has appeared in over 60 movies he is well known for his performance in the spaghetti western films. In the third movie The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly he wears a whiskey brown color felt cowboy hat. The hat worn by the man with no name is a 3 ½” brim with a slight pencil roll and a 4 1/4” distressed telescope crown. Interestingly, the hat crown appears to be a little distressed from use and it shows damaged areas from previous shots. The hat is accented with a brown leather band with a buckle worn on the left side.
This Josey Wales Hat is styled after the hat worn by Clint Eastwood from the film "The Outlaw Josey Wales". The film tells the story of Josey Wales, a Missouri farmer whose family is murdered by Union militants during the Civil War. Driven to revenge, Wales joins a Confederate guerrilla band and makes a name for himself as a feared gunfighter. After the war, all the fighters in Wales' group except for him surrender to Union officers, but they end up being massacred.
