Although Clint Eastwood has appeared in over 60 movies he is well known for his performance in the spaghetti western films. Clint Eastwood started in the trilogy by Sergio Leone, A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966). The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly over the years became the best and most influential western movie ever made.
Clint Eastwood plays the man with no name, who is called Blondie throughout the films and is the title “good” character. Clint Eastwood wears different hats throughout the trilogy. After researching all of the 3 films Miller Hats experienced hatters decided to design a hat from the third movie The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
In the third movie The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly he wears a whiskey brown color felt cowboy hat. The hat worn by the man with no name is a 3 ½” brim with a slight pencil roll and a 4 1/4” distressed telescope crown. Interestingly, the hat crown appears to be a little distressed from use and it shows damaged areas from previous shots. The hat is accented with a brown leather band with a buckle worn on the left side.
This Josey Wales Hat is styled after the hat worn by Clint Eastwood from the film "The Outlaw Josey Wales". The film tells the story of Josey Wales, a Missouri farmer whose family is murdered by Union militants during the Civil War. Driven to revenge, Wales joins a Confederate guerrilla band and makes a name for himself as a feared gunfighter. After the war, all the fighters in Wales' group except for him surrender to Union officers, but they end up being massacred. Wales becomes an outlaw and is pursued by bounty hunters and Union soldiers as he tries to make a new life for himself.
Clint Eastwood once again plays a great role in the The Outlaw Josey Wales movie. We are proud to design a Josey Wales fur felt hat that is available in distressed or non distressed. The hat features a 4" flat brim with a pencil rolled raw edge and a 4 1/2" slight pinch teardrop crown. To top it off it comes with a beautifully distressed acorn band to give it a more authentic look.
Another famous Clint Eastwood movie is the 1985 Pale Rider western film produced and directed by Clint Eastwood. Clint Eastwood plays the lead role as the character of “The Preacher”. The title is a reference to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as the rider of the pale horse of Death. The film which took in nearly $41 million at the box office, became the highest grossing Western film of the 1980s.
After reviewing the The Pale Rider movie our hat experts decided to design a Miller Pale Rider hat. Based in our research the hat Clint Eastwood wore in the Pale Rider movie was a black fur felt material with a 4 ⅛” flat top crown, 1” leather band, and 3 ½” slight turn up on the sides.
