Miller Hats sales many hat brands, including the most recognized brand “Stetson”. The Stetson hat company played a crucial role in the marketing of the hat from the movie “Temple of Doom” in 1984. It was this movie and Stetson marketing that made Indiana Jones hats the most popular fedora dress hat.

With the filming of Temple of Doom, the Indy hat took a few twists of its own. Herbert Johnson started using a new model to create their Indy hats, plus Stetson began to manufacture hats for the movie as well. With two different companies supplying hats for the movie, a variety of shapes of the hat can be seen throughout the film.

While Temple of Doom was playing in the theatres fedoras hats were produced commercially in conjunction with its release. The Stetson Hat Company had their hats crafted in two locations, Austria and the United States. The Austria hats were noticeably different, made with a finer quality of felt not coarse, like the U.S. versions. In 1988 Stetson stopped selling their Indy hats, and let their license of the hats expired right before Last Crusade started filming. The new licensed for Indiana Jones hat was acquired by Dorfman Pacific.

The Temple hat made by Stetson was named after the 1984 movie, “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”. It remains the hottest selling dress hat fedora. Stetson continues to manufacture a US made high quality fur felt hat. There dress hats include leather sweatbands, satin lining, and are individually sized. Stetson continues to provide an affordable high quality product.
