The Indiana Jones hat is one of the most recognized items when it comes to fedora dress hats. Harrison Ford found and purchased the original raiders fedora hat for the movie in England.

The Indiana Jones hat worn in the movie was originally an open crown and was custom creased for Harrison Ford. In many scenes of the movie the hat is creased in different styles to give the appearance of either a safari hat or a fedora hat. It does that because the brim of the hat can easily be folded up in the back or snapped down in the front, and the crown can be molded and pinched.

The Indiana Jones hat can be used as an outdoor safari hat or as a dressier indoor fedora hat. In most cases customer who purchase this hat use it for everyday wear. The hat used in Raiders of the Lost Ark is very distinct with a tight pinch front, a wide brim and a rather tall crown.

Throughout all three of these movies, the fedora hat went through some changes. In each of these movies the hat was shaped differently. In Raiders of the Lost Ark, the fedora hat was the tallest with a straight sided crown and tight pinch at the front. In Temple of Doom, Indy's hat was shorter with a more tapered crown. The hat brim was wide around 2 5/8 to 2 3/4, with a tall pinch crown, and a wide grosgrain double bow band of around 1 5/8”. The brim also has a swoop in it, that is very well noticed when the hat is pulled down towards the eyes.
